Future News & Rumors Appear!

A couple things to get out of the way:

Yes, the next issue of Nintendo Power will have a cover story on Brawl. What should you expect? Not much in the way of all-new information and shocking reports, but a plethora of new screenshots, possibly some more details on the features, and maybe they'll reveal all the special moves of all the new characters (since most of them only have two covered). The issue will be available in late October (considering when we got this info, I'd say around the 27th).

There's also a rumor going around that the director of the Animal Crossing series told Famitsu in an interview that he helped design an AC character for the game, one of the player characters who uses all their equipment for attacks. Of course, this came from GameFAQs, and the original poster has never revealed a source. That's...usually not a good sign.
