New techniques are always hard to judge - unless it's something really major, you don't know what to think of them without being able to try them out yourself.
Even so, I can say that the Footstool Jump actually looks cool. It looks to be a good evasive maneuver, albeit hard to pull off all the time. Plus, it's always good to get in a few extra jumps.
