Today's update shows us two things:
1) The Super Scope is back.
2) You can now run forwards and backwards, as well as jump, while shooting. This makes using that item 100% more like playing Contra.
The post says this applies to all 'rapid-fire weapons', so that'll probably include the Ray Gun and Fire Flower as well.
